Hi Everyone!
Just downloaded this app from the iTunes store called "How to Play Poker" from WatchDoit. Cool app, but it got me back into card games and I was wondering if there were any other great apps or resources for learning various card games. Appreciate any help! -Soveida |

Hmm. There are various places to learn poker games such as NL Texas Holdem.
If you are serious with poker (want to make a living out of it that is), then I would suggest you take a look at the poker audio books that I have in my signature below. These are high quality information books worth buying ONLY if you want to make money out of poker and need a good long run strategy to help you with that. Otherwise, poker forums, youtube, pokertube, tv shows and various poker blogs are your friends. You will find much valuable information there to as well. Hope it helps! Good luck : ) -------------------- Make sure to check out my poker blog: Online poker guide

There always good books for reading and also watching some high stake poker videos at youtube, is fun and interesting, but leaving that behind i always recommend to watch training videos, if you are not much of a reader i recommend it, its very usefull and entertain , i learned that way and i think is the best way to get it on with online poker.
I f you are looking for a guide check out my signature it will help you a lot with what you are intrested in regarding to learning online texas holdem. Good Luck. -------------------- |

It is very easy to learn poker but it is quite difficult and it can be also very time consuming to learn to play winning poker. Texas Holdem Poker is most popular from all the poker variants. Therefore we will provide you the guide and tools to learn to play Texas Holdem Poker. With these tools and information you will be not only able to learn how to play Texas Holdem Poker but to learn how to play winning poker.Poker is very complex game. Much more complex than chess or blackjack. When you play blackjack or chess there is in each situation one best solution. In poker you can face the same situation multiple times, handle it completely different and still get it right. Many people think that it is impossible to learn how to play poker and win consistently. Well there are right and they are also completely wrong. To understand how to play poker and to play winning poker you first need to understand the relation between luck and skill in poker.

Have you tried any of the online poker schools ? Some of them are supposed to be pretty decent, and are basically free to use. Search "poker school" in Google, to see a list of some of these. I have heard good things about them, in general.

If you are completely new, i would advise going to your local bookstore or barnes and noble, grabbing a cup of coffee, and browsing through some beginner online poker books. Learn the Basics of A variation and then figure out which type of that variation you would like to play such as cash games, multi-table tournaments, or sit-n-gos.
Then practice at some online poker rooms, then read some more academic poker theory type stuff and play some more. -------------------- simple poker guide with online poker history, terms, strategy, and tips

I have to agree with a lot that has been said. Holdemchick has a great almost free way of getting started.
If you want some more advanced topics and some coaching to boot, visit this site. It is not free so it may not be in your mind of what you wanted but it is top quality. -------------------- |
