Early in the morning when I opened FullTilt, it advised a newer version existed and to download it. I did, when I started my computer later my security software automatically does a spyware scan and got this spyware "Multidropper FK." If you try to quaritine or delete it, it will give you the blue screen on your next boot.
Since this is the only download I made today and did not get an alert earlier, I am fairly sure this is where I got it. I have alerted FullTilt of the problem. If you have had this problem. Do the following: 1. Do a last known good system configuration on your next reboot 2. Open up the registry 3. Go to "hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\enum\root\legacy_ipfilterdriver" 4. You should see a subkey called "0000", all zeros not O's. 5. Left click on the subkey and select "Permissions" 6. In the dialog box select "Everyone and check the Full Control "Allow" check box. Click OK. 7. Left click the the subkey "0000" and select delete. If you get an error not allowing you to delete the subkey, go back to steps 5 and 6 make sure you have Full Control checked. 8. Close the registry. 9. Reboot the system. This should correct the problem. I am a programmer myself and alway aware at any time what is going on my computer and when not on the internet, I block it. Good security is the best way to avoid these problem and it never hurts to go to the windows task manager check those programs running on your computer. I've posted on blogs and security forms, but since this is where I think I got it, it might be a good idea to post it here. If you don't have this problem then somehow I've gotten this somewhere else and sorry to have cause any confusion amongs the members here. But I figured it be better to have those here check it out, rather than to have this problem and not know. |
