4 1/2 Hours into a NL MTT last night 67 left from 2514. 8 Players at my table, the table is tight except for the chip leader who is seeing lots of flops. Here are the chip counts.

Button 15k
SB 105K(table chip leader)
BB 55K
UTG 6K
UTG1 42K
MP 34K
HERO 33K
MP2 40K

Blind are 1000-2000, and HERO is delt K heart.gif K club.gif up to this point HERO has been playing tight and agressive, picking his spots to get in and get out. The hand folds around to MP who goes ALL IN very fast. Now the HERO's read on this player is he likes to raises with good position, never played a hand since joining the table from an early position, and the hands that he raised with and were show down were KQ, AJ,A10, and this is his first ALL IN. So the HERO Runs the hand possiblities through his mind and this is what he comes up with. He Knows that MP doesn't have A's because if he did he would probably have raised an amout that would get some action. It is likely he doesn't have AK just because HERO holds 2 of the K in his hand. If he has Q's, J's HERO is a huge favorite, but these holding just don't fit the move. HERO Figures MP to be holding Ax and this is a steal attempt. HERO calls and the remaining players fold. MP shows A spade.gif 7 spade.gif And as we all know nobody posts hands that they win with on here so ofcorse the K's lose to a 10 high straight and the HERO is out of the tourny in 66th position. HERO is not upset about the out come because that is poker, and if the out come was different it would have put me in a great position to make the final table. I guess what I'm asking is would anyone have folded this hand? and if so why? Would they have risked their tournament life on K's? Was the hand evaluation of MP done right?( I know in this hand it was but is this kind of how most people run possible hands in their heads?) In the end I don't think I could lay it down unless I was sure he had A's and in this case I was sure he didn't, plus if I wanted to win the tourny I need to double my stack and this was a great opportunity to do that. Anyways what do others think? wacko.gif

I think you owe me some free beer, especially for having to read that thing. I'm sure I'm ahead by 70/30 at the worst, should I fold? Dude c'mon.

Just thought I'd throw it out there see what others might do differently. It's more for the hand analysis, sometime I'll put a guy on a hand and be way off. I know I shouldn't fold there but there might be some who would argue differently. Sorry about the free beer thought I'd get more readers. if you live in Canada I'll mail you some.

Would I fold pocket Kings to one all-in in front of me pre-flop in a tournament, ever? No.

Would they have risked their tournament life on K's?

Next time, please break up your post into smaller, easier to read paragraphs. I do like how you talked about yourself in the third person, it sounded funny.

Anyway, you seem to be posting this just because of the results. You are confusing a good decision with good results. (By the way, people post hands that they've won here all the time. With the better posts, in fact, it doesn't even matter who won the hand because we realize that the decision is all that matters). You can control what you decide to do, not how the cards falls.

Look at the one sentence I quoted from your post. I'm pretty sure that absent an amazing read, every one of us here would risk our tournament lives with KK. You could hardly hope for a better situation. More times than not, this decision will lead to good results. But realize that it will lose sometimes.

If you never lose a pot, then you are playing incorrectly. You have to get your chips in the pot when it is mathematically correct to do so, which means that over time this decision will gain you money. But you have to lose the hand some of the times and then more than make up for it by winning some other times.

So you say the guy can't have AA, and you are asking if you should make the call??

AND you get my attention by advertising free beer???
