| Playing $4-$8 at Foxwoods yesterday. There were 3 players in this hand that matter. Me - great all around guy, still trying to improve his game. Red shirt guy - (rsg)- plays EVERY hand when I sat down he had 3 racks filled up with chips and he left flat busted after rebuying. He makes bad plays into obvious big hands. Super Moron - (sm)- This is about his 3rd hand since he sat down. When he sat down and bought in he told the dealer that he did not want those chips he wanted different chips and made the dealer give him different chips. SM is in the BB, RSG is on the Button. I get dealt AdQd in MP I raise it and get 4 callers. Flop comes 5A9 SM checks I bet 1 drops and RSG calls. SM then raises me, I reraise and SM caps it and RSG keeps calling. Turn is a 2 SM bets I only call and RSG calls. Then SM flips over his cards for some reason. He has A10 . The river is a J. SM checks I say out loud "I can beat your hand" and bet and then RSG CALLS (remember that folks) SM calls. I flip over my top pair better kicker and RSG flips over 97. I raked in a huge pot and even the dealer went beet red trying to keep from laughing out loud. I had to get up from the table I was laughing so hard. I left a couple hours later up $400. | ||

| The play is a little better. You will still not really be able to bluff as you can in $5-$10. $2-$4 is horrible total showdown. You will usually have maybe 2 or 3 players at $4-$8 that know how to play, 3 rocks, 3 very loose see every flop players, and 1 total maniac. You should move up as soon as possible. I usually play $5-$10 or $10-$20 but I got in this game and it was great. The fact that the cards were really hitting me helped tremendously. I am still guilty of triing some fancy plays and get burned at that level when the player does not even notice my great moves. | ||

| Anyhing is better than that $2-$4 game. You either have people playing every hand to the river or old men and ladies who will only play AA. | ||

| I have played a few times recently at Foxwoods. I play $5/$10 with a full kill hold-em. The play is generally better than the 2/4 or 4/8, although you still get a few maniacs at 5/10 and above. One particular hand that I played on Christmas night stands out. It was a kill pot, so the stakes were 10/20. The player to my right (holding 9-9) raised to $20 UTG. I re-raised to $30 with A-A. A player in late position capped it. Then the maniac on the button cold called the $40. The flop was 4-6-10 rainbow, followed by a blank on the turn and a 4 paired the board on the river. The player to my right showed 2 pair, 9's over 4's. I showed aces up, and then the maniac (idiot) showed his 4-6 offsuit and the boat!!! We all said great hand, great play (the idiot thought it was a sincere compliment).....I just couldn't believe someone would cold call $40 with such rags. Needless to say, his stack of approximately $800 after that hand dwindled down to about $200 when I left a few hours later. I look forward to playing against him someday soon......I guess even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut. | ||

| i was in an act II tourney there a week or 2 ago, and went all in with KQ, and the chip leader calls with 2 4 off suit. Believe it or not i won with k high! I had to sweat seeing a 2 or 4 on the river! Some crazies down there! | ||

| The 5/10 game with the full kill is the best game in that room by far. I usually play 10/20 or 15/30 in Vegas and other spots, but the 5/10 kill at Foxwoods offers at LEAST the same profit potential with less risk. I would encourage anyone playing 4/8 at Foxwoods to try the 5/10. | ||

| I've been to Foxwoods 3 times in the last month to play 5/10 and have made 720, 705 and 165 in my 3 sessions there. All sessions lasted about 5 hours. There is definitely money to be made in the wonder of the Connecticut woods. The only reason I don't go there more often is the potential waiting list to get on a table. The waiting lists for the day after Christmas were 30 or 40 names deep for every game up to 15/30. | ||

I was very glad I sat down after this. | ||

| Ah, it's nice to remember that these people live among us and have disposable income. Eli on 31. Dec 2003 07:02 Hatchthunder wrote: > Playing $4-$8 at Foxwoods yesterday.
