| Roy, I greatly enjoyed your book and was rereading it and noticed a slight miss calculation in one of the chapters: Section Three The Price is Right, Chapter 1: Whoops! (starting on page 107 in the paperback version in case there was a different printing) In the chapter you kick yourself for throwing away top set against a 4 str8 board in which you were sure you are beat on the turn by two players with an ace each to make the royal str8. You end up calcuating that you had an overlay to draw on the river to fill up, yet you failed to factor in that you also had two ace outs to take a third of the pot, yes this isn't much but to be able to get your investment back, minus the rake, 5% of the time does add to the equity of the play. I tried to think of ways where the ace is not an out or that one or both of the players had pocket aces decreasing the possible aces to come from the deck and couldn't come up with any. The only scenario i could come up with is that one of your opponents was overplaying a flush draw and two pair thinking either a fullhouse or flush would be good on the river and geting 2 to 1 on each turn bet to draw for it. You always chastise your friend florida john for missing some outs on his questionable decisions and hear you missed two. It happens to everyone. | ||

| Hi Smokey Yes, you are right! It is a good sign for you that you picked up on it! One of the disadvantages about being a writer is if you screw up everyone hears about it....Including me bigtime :-) Life is Good :-) Roy Cooke on 29.
