Took my grandmother to Foxwoods tonight (Christmas Night). Got there around 6:30. 30 people on 5/10 list, 2 games going. 40 people on 4/8, also 2 games going. 45 on 2/4 with 3 going. Sign all 3 lists and go watch Nana play slots for 45 min. Go back to poker room. Only moved up 5-10 spots on each list. Plenty of empty tables, no available dealers. Grab a Card Player and back to Nana for another hour. Now i'm about 5th on 2/4 and 4/8 while the 5/10 has stalled out and I am still about 20th. Pass up the 2/4 because I am next on the 4/8 (Many players were on both these lists but the 5/10 was a completely different group). Finally get on 4/8 table. Play about 20 hands. Get up to go to buffet right after dealer change. Now, I usually hate when people do this, but I didn't want to risk my name being called if I went to the buffet before I got a seatand I promised Nana we would eat ASAP. There is no dinner list at Foxwoods. Had my chips picked up after 50 minutes. Lists were even longer after dinner than when I got there. So frustrating. Went back to slots with Nana. Finished Card Player. Then, kicking myself as I did it, I put $50 into a video poker machine. Hit a straight flush and about 4 boats in 45 minutes. Cashed out $350. Funny how life works
