Flopped Royal Flush, Novalia, 25. Dec 2003 00:28 | ||

| Yesterday I flopped a Royal Flush. Checked it and my opponent also checked. Turn came up blank. I went all-in and was called. He had AK (which was in the flop. He was shocked he lost =) I screenshotted it and show everyone that will look. =) Tonight in a 4- handed home game, in a hand I folded, someone went all-in on the flop which was A 10 J diamonds. Someone went all-in and was called by two people. He turns over the straight to Ace. Someone else turns over the made flush. The third turns over 10 10. The turn is a blank. The river is a J. So in one hand there was a straight, a flush, and a full house. Pretty steep odds for that to happen =) Two hands later he busted my pocket nines out with a Jack on the river. | ||

| Having a 4-handed game where you get a straight, a flush, and a tight all at once isn't that rare...especially when you look at the circumstances. First of all, you've got a flop right in the playing zone - it is very likely that a player will be holding cards that reasonably make a flush (hey - any two suited cards are playable by a lot of players in a 4-handed game) and there are a lot of reasonable cards to make the broadway. Likewise, a big pair flopping a set is totally reasonable. It is a very unremarkable thing in a 10-handed game to have a suited straight-possible flush when I'm holding a set ... I probably see that once every 40 hours or so ... not to add the made flush and made straight makes it rarer and there's only a 1/3 chance that I tighten up, but it is still nothing to write home about. 4 -handed it'll be a lot rarer, but still nothing exceptional. | ||

| Just hit Alt-Print Screen while you are in the game to capture a screen-shot. Then you can paste into an image program or Word or something. -Moz -"I'm jealous of girls, because they get to wear dresses." -"One problem at a time, son." | ||
