Bad hands that win, KevinK, 24. Dec 2003 01:14

There is a thread that talks about hands we like to use. However, this thread is different. What is a hand that seems to consistently beat you? I'm not talking about big slick or pocket aces, stuff that is strong. Rather, I'm wondering if more marginal hands seem to have your number. Hands that have it in for me are A 2, K 6, and worst of all, the vile Vakronyi(Q 10) suited black. What's yours?

That is one of the most bizarre questions I've ever heard. Think about what you're asking; there is no particular hand that can "have your number". But it does sound that you may be paying off too frequently if a hand like K6 "does you in" too often.

All I was saying is I feel that there are hands that make me cringe because they tend to suck me out quite a bit regardless of how much a favorite I am. For example, I have big slick off and it is against Q 10. Flop comes A 7 4 rainbow(93%ahead). Turn comes a queen(85-88% if I'm not mistaken). River comes a ten. Assuming I have bet correctly, that is a bad beat. Perhaps this should have gone in that forum. Screw it, ignore the thread or flame away.

I've had my Aces cracked a few times by K10.

J10 has my number when ever i have a high pocket pair (JJ or better.)
It all started when i was playing on a $20 pot limit tourney at pokerstars. 700 people joined and it was down to the last 25, me in first place and double the chips of most of the people.
It all came crashing down..when in the BB i have AA and raise the limit (which was very high becase of so many callers.) idiot boy reraises me his all in (half my stack) with J10 thinking i'm bluffing. I call. the flop = 10JJ and no aces hit.

On a side note. I won all of it back and once again faced off against idiot boy. I raise with AJ suited and he calls. Flop is AJ5 I bet out he calls. turn brings a rag...i bet out, he calls. river brings a ten for his trips. I lose since I'm almost all in already. Damn that guy was lucky!

A terrible memory for me. First place was a crapload of money, and I had a great shot at it. I think I finished11th or 12th. ugh.
