You can now purchase a "Tournament Texas Hold'em Set" at your local toy store.

I just wonder what the teachers are going to think when they hear
"I'm all in" reverberating throughout the playground ;-)

-I did not look at it that closely because I was in a hurry. It looked like it had some chips, cards etc.

-Look in the games section of the store, The one I saw was at a Meijers store.

I took a closer look at it today at the store. It is 2 decks of cards, chips, a dealer button and rules.

Children just love to play games. My son started playing poker with
Amarillo Slim and his pals at age 4, and by age 6 he could hold his
own in all of the variations that can be played in this game. He also
learned how to play pot limit in the Firday Night poker game. This was the
first of the early poker programs for the PC to have this betting option.
He could also play blackjack on the PC.

Games are a great educational tools. Poker and blackjack require development
of maht and memory skills. When I grew up in the '50's all we had were card and board games, pool and pinball. In grade school we played poker, gin and blackjack for pennies.

At my son's high school, however, nobody knows how to play hearts, gin, poker
blackjack, rummy, etc. This is due to the explosive growth of arcade and computer gaming. This is not a good sign for the future of poker.

Once young people learnd how to play poker. they tend to stay out of trouble.

16 yr old here plays poker online a lot. (no money yet just freerolls) and I'm not like most of my high-school with the drugs and such if that is what you mean. I don't give all the credit to poker, but maybe it helped a little.

You should start up a poker game with your buddies and play for real money with
buy-in at about the price of a Big Mac. Big Fries, Big Drink all SuperSized plus the cost of movie ticket (ca. $20). Once the word gets out that there is some serious action going down at your place, all you guys will do is play poker. And you can pick-up big bucks. And all you guys _will_ give up chasing young women!
I guar-un-tee it! The hottest babe in the school is ice cube compared to a fast action poker game with a couple of hundred bucks on the table!!!

I ran a poker game on Friday nights with my buddies. The game was 25-50 cents with $10 buy-in. The ante was 25 cents. Since the pot was $2 (8 handed game), the fish would stay on just about anything. The big noney action game was seven card stud high-low with closed declarations. It wasn't unusal for the big winner to walk out with $50-100. I once set the record when I won $120. Now these dollars
wee real good 1960's dollars, like in the days when a hamburger was 15 cents and
a gallon of gas was about 25 cents!

Most of the money was supplied by Mike "Murf the Surf" Murphy, a real rich kid
who was always throwing his Daddy's money around and tryng to buy just about
every other pot. We gutted him so bad he finally quit coming to the game.
