ok i have been wanting to post this stuff for awhile but wanted to have at least some solid basis for saying it. most of what im saying has to do with how people respond to questions here and what questions get asked

about 3 months ago i deposited $300 into a PStars account and started to play online, started playing .5/1 and did well, took some shots at higher limits and built bankroll to 700+ then i got nailed by those wonderful streaks that happen to us all, i ran bad *not saying i didnt leak but most was just bad* hands beaten by better hands not even most bad beats just getting beat, but making nice hands. i took a total bath i didnt want/let myself drop down in limits, i said i beat these guys before i can do it again regardless of the size of my bankroll *was making sure to pick what i thought were soft tables but when your made hands are getting beat by draws it doesnt matter how soft the table is* i lost and i lost and i lost finally i got down to $1.50 in the account and i finally woke the heck up. i took a few days off moaning and wailing about why me and why was i getting hands cracked over and over again.

finally i logged on again and went to the .01/.02 tables and played, worked way upto .02/.04 worked way upto .05/.10 and so on, this last weekend im back over $300

we are all human, we all have failings, the object is to learn from mistakes, ITS NOT TO NOT MAKE ANY MORE!

alot of posts i read i like the responses but i get a feeling at times that the responder is coming across as if you would just stop making mistakes and at times thats almost worse than the initial mistake/question they were asking about.

poker is a fast paced stressful game, it has vast numbers of variables that are constantly changing, training yourself to think a certain way allows you to concentrate on more of the variables but noone will ever be able to know them all.

of course im not suggesting that making mistakes is good but if the option is taking a chance of making a mistake versus doing nothing then taking the chance in general is the right choice.

dont be afraid to make mistakes, the common wisdom is that you learn more about yourself from mistakes than doing something right *paraphrase you learn more from losing than winning*

if you think about things you might have done wrong and wonder why you did them and then try to change your behaviour your going in the right direction.

That's a great story and great advice. I've been waiting to tell mine also, so since you already started, I'll jump in. I deposited $50 into UB a few months ago. I worked my way up to $200 and dropped all the way down to $6. I then started playing .25/50 and kept increasing my bankroll. This morning, I won my first multi-table and I'm up to almost $600 from $6! Fun game we play; sometimes.
