| Using bankroll management and game strategy advice I've found here, you guys have helped me to become a winnning poker player making my first cash out today. The advice here has saved me bets when I lose, and earn larger pots when I win... and keep me at even when the deck doesn't want to give me hand worth looking at. Nothing wrong with spinning the wheels waiting for something good to happen. My plan after leaving more than enough to sustain lower limit losses is to pretend that I'm back down to the beginning and work the money back up from the .50-1 tables. Once there is a large buffer to move up to 1-2 and so on and so forth to 2-4 and taking an occasional crack at 3-6 where I've been getting consistently beat 2/3 sessions on average. With my next withdraw when I can double the amount that was necessary to take money out of the bankroll this time. Although... I'm kind of frustrated at looking at tiny pots after pulling in such huge ones before... Peace, R.Dale | ||

| there is nothing wrong with staying at a limit your beating *contrary to the real world the object is not to rise to your level of incompatence* im assuming there is a RL need for you to take out the money *no reason to explain doesnt matter* you want to play at the highest limit you feel you can consistantly beat *in general the competition is stiffer so makes you play better to come away a winner* the issue i have is something you said, its hard to focus on much smaller pots after dragging much larger ones *something to that effect* example might be start at .25/.50 working your way upto 3/6 but you take some serious hits at 3/6 *bad luck? bad play?* your bankroll has shrunk and you have nowhere near enough to play 3/6 drop back to 1/2 taking some shots at 2/4 when table looks good try to keep money in the account so that your covered for those limits and just stay there for a while, earn money there take out what you need but always leaving yourself covered. i can fully see you running into problems if you fall to far down the ladder *i have done it and its hard* Rule #1 of Poker Circumstances alter cases Rule #2 NEVER forget rule #1 | ||

I walk away and reflect on what stomped me when that happens, make sure that I'm more than covered for dropping down to the 2-4 game that I can crush before taking the shot at the bigger game. When the funds are "expendable" to take another swing at the bigger game go back to it, better prepared from previous whipping, and even when I beat it, drop back down to reflect on what made that time successful. I've played scared money once, and it was enough, if I can't afford to lose, I can't afford to play and my likely hood of winning is greatly reduced. The thing that is most noted, is there are limits of the game that losing is spinning my wheels for a long time, but not really getting anywhere, which is better than taking a hit... but still frustrating. | ||
