Did i make the wrong move?, Eman Da Man, 21. Dec 2003 13:53

I had ace king and the highest card on the flop was a jack and the flop was jack ten four. And the pot was pretty big considering we had about 6 other callers. So i go all in and i get called by someone with a jack. so the turn comes a ten then the river a 4. I know i lost but did i make the right move? I was trying to steal the blinds.

Alot more info is needed on the situation:

Stack sizes
Position
Pre-flop betting
Types of opponents

What did you do before the flop? If you were looking to steal the blinds that would have been a better opportunity to do so with a big raise. (but with six players in you probably aren't going to steal the blinds...) Anyway, like jaustin said more info needed, but going all with nothing and five players left to act probably wasn't the right move. Any jack beats you (and again w/ five other players someone has a jack) and the flush draw gives people even more life.

yeah i just called the bet cause i was trying to get more callers. and a bigger pot to steal. so with a jack and ten on flop and my ace king i had to try and steal. Also i holded the ace of clubs in my hand, so if i got 2 runner clubs i win. Thats what i was thinking.. so was it wrong or right?

i think you played that poorly. Against 6 players, someone had to have a piece of that flop. Going allin first to act is a sign of weakness. If you had a monster allin hand, you would bet allin in first to act. IMO AK deserves a substantial raise preflop. Raise with AK next time preflop
