| I would raise very large ($3-5) with AA or KK from any position and raise large, amount depending on position with QQ. Be happy to win the blinds and any limps with the AA, KK. The QQ, while a very good starting hand is only a little better than 50/50 against AK and is a big underdog to KK and AA | ||

| If there are no limpers, I'd make whatever the normal raise is (usually 3x or 4x the big blind). You don't want to have your raise size give away your hand. If I got reraised, I'd always push in with aces or kings. With queens I usually will as well, unless the player is so tight he'll only raise with AK or better. If there are limpers, I'll make a slightly larger raise to hopefully get the hand heads up. Also, every now and then you can limp if the game is aggressive and go for the re-raise. This will also help to keep people from pushing you around whenver you limp. | ||

| I agree in general with jaustin, but one additional thing to consider with AA or KK in EP is a limp--with the idea of re-raising like a maniac. It only works at tables where people raise a lot, so I haven't had many opportunities to play the hands this way. But you do want to get as much money in the pot as possible pre-flop, and as for me, I'm not happy just taking the blinds with these hands nor do I like making my initial bet a dead giveaway that I have AA or KK. Hence, I wouldn't make my standard initial raise any bigger than my standard raise for AK. | ||

| Raise 4-5x the BB and hope for 1 or two callers. If someone else re-raises you, then perhaps go all-in, especially with AA. The only one of these three that I would ever just call with (UTG with the hope that I can re-raise a raiser to isolate) is AA. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER do this with KK and QQ...there is too great a chance that the lone Ace hands will call you and hit. | ||
