Omaha, Omaha. What a blah night. I never really got anything going on. I lost, then lost some more, and finally busted out, pretty early into the tourney.

The player I backed busted out in the middle of the tourney, so I lost money on that one, too.

I sat next to the man who yelled at me a couple of months ago about not tipping the dealers when I hadn't won any money. The guy who went ballistic.

He didn't remember me, which is a good thing about being a kitchen-beautician and doing my own hair, I guess. Back then it was a deep auburn, I believe, and longer. Now it is a "yella" crewcut, lol.

Anyway, I found out he and his wife live in Vegas, and have lived in Vegas for about 15 years, retiring from Chicago. No wonder he was such a grouch. Combining a midwestern xenophobe with the grumpy Vegas rocks can make a lethal combination, lol.

At any rate, he was pretty nice to me, and we got along well. He knows how to play tournament Omaha, and his wife is an excellent player. He talked to me quite a bit about Cardplayer Cruises. It seems that they have been on most, if not all of the cruises and always have a fabulous time. We talked about the no-abuse tolerance, which was kind of ironic, since he was the one doing this abusing the last time they visited Laughlin. I can forgive and forget. Maybe he forgot his Valium that day, LOL :)

I have always avoided going on poker cruises because I know that personal performance is cut on the sea. That is a fact. I read a book called "Ship of Gold" or something like that. It is non-fiction. There have been many studies performed on volunteers which proved conclusively that performance suffers about 90% when one is at sea. Naturally, most of this involved labor, but mental performance must suffer also.

Glenn and I took a 21 day cruise around Latin America and through the Panama Canal. I did not feel that I was at my best. I felt disoriented more than I have ever felt on land, not to mention that the ship passed around a cold that nearly everyone caught, yet no one could get rid of, due to the recirculated air.

Hence I have always balked at a poker cruise. But Curly, the player next to me, made the cruise sound so fun, and the poker sound so juicy, that now I want to try it out. I'll probably regret it, if I do, LOL.

Felicia :)
