| Last night, playing on-line, I notice that one player's dollar amount seem a little higher than most around the table, but didn't remember to much about him playing. As I kept an eye on him(or her), I noticed that he didn't play much and his wins consisted mostly of High and High to medium suited cards. Raised only on J's to A's Paired reraised only once with A's. Only once did he vary from this pattern when I had three J's and he make a straight on the river. After that he always folded after the flop if I bet or raised. The problem was most of all the other players were giving him a lot of action and he was beating them hands down every time he came in, even if he raise on the pre-flop. My cards went into the muck real fast. I am I being over critical of the other players or does on-line hold'em throw so smoke in people's eyes. | ||

| You see this in live games too. A few days ago I was playing live and I had been sitting on this table with the same guys for about four hours. I got AK and raised. Flop came out with an A and I bet it all the way to the river. After I showed my hand, my opponent said he thought I was bluffing. I hadn't bluffed all night and I hadn't shown any hands less than AJ after hitting top pair so I don't know why he didn't believe that I had an A. | ||

| LOW LIMIT online hold em is ripe for bad beats, people hold stuff that they shouldn't as a result you get people hitting their kicker or draw on the river, even if you do raise. I have found that playing like this person plays has worked best for me. I raise when I know I'm ahead, and when I know I'm beat I bail. Once in a while pot odds will keep me in but usually if cards come out that are likely to improve another players hand and I am faces with a raise or bet, then I will fold. I find that when I get a good hand that I am very much able to build a large pot, and that makes it all worth it. My win rate is ave is 7% and I play about 23% of the hands that I see. -Blazman | ||

| Unobservant players tend to have difficulty distiguishing between calling stations and rocks (loose-passive and tight-passive). Since they focus in on betting patterns which are generally the same (lots of calling not alot of raising) and miss important information like folding patterns and starting requirements. identify your table rocks and beware when you are at showdown with one of them cause they ain't showing up with junk....but, I don't need to tell you that. | ||
