The late caller has K-J. I ran this. In a 1000 hand sim........he wins 4 times, ties 35. I hate this game...lol.

| That sucks, but why are you playing K4s in the first place? | ||

| 5 handed or not, I would never play K4s. Especially with someone that is shortstacked and likely to go all in at any time with any decent hand. You should not have even flat called with K4s. | ||

confused about the simulation, Andrew W, 18. Dec 2003 13:44

| How did you run this simulation? I assume you are running 1000 hands from the river, since it shows you tying more often.... What about losing? There is one unaccounted for "4" - 1 out of 44 times, that last 4 will hit the river, and you'd win with quads. Not that I'd count on that of course, I am just curious about these simulators everyone else talks about. It seems to me, you'd want the computer to offer every possible card yet to come. If it randomly picks cards, 1000 random selections may be close to tell you what is profitable, but I would rather think in terms of outs. Anyone have any idea what I'm asking? | ||

| Yes. I don't know the answer, but re-running the hand with every possible undisclosed card seems to make much more sense than 1000 "randomly selected" river cards. | ||

| i assume oilcan can is using texas turbo hold-em, which indeed does run high speed simulations, using a random number generator to deal from the remaining undealt cards. he apparently ignores the fact that he was ahead ONLY on the flop--that is, he was trailing before the flop, after the turn, and after the river. kennycatkiller | ||
