| Hi my friends and I have been playing holdem for about 6 months now and I've decided I want to buy real clay chips. I've shopped around on the internet and saw some very nice chips. Which chips do you suggest buying and what is the best site to buy them from. Thanks in advance for your responses | ||

| Hello, After you see the prices of the chips you may want to go to a casino and clean them out of their .50 chips. It may be a cheaper way to go. Good Luck! | ||

| I play in a few home games. I really don't like those 11.5 gram specials on ebay. they're similar to casino chips in size and shape only. The Nevada jack chips look good. I haven't used them though. But, they look like the cheapest casino type chips. | ||

| I work in a casino, use chips every day. There are many styles from which to choose; from real clay 11g 'Casino' Chips in various qualities, to plastic and filled plastic chips. They all work for tossing into the pot, and most have a nice "splash" if 7g or more. I believe it really comes down to how much you want to spend. Plastic Chips $0.15-0.25ea Clay Filled Plastic (7g) $0.25-0.40ea Metal Filled Plastic (11g) $0.35-0.55ea All Clay (11g) $0.50-1.00ea Prices are approximate and from memory. I ended up with Clay Filled Plastic in eight colors ( I use them for money in board games too.) My favorite site to deal with for price and selection is http://www.pokerchips.com Lastly; for money games, two or three colors is all you need depending on your limits. For tournament play with increasing blinds, I would recommend four colors. Hope this helps. DiceCaller | ||
