I was just curious how you all would define a loose table? Tight table? Is it a completely qualitative analysis or can this be done quantitatively?

I think it can be done quantitatively to a point. Just look at the % that people see the flop. Anything about 40% is a pretty loose table.

Of course this only shows how they play pre-flop and doesn't say if they are tight post flop but generally people that play lots of hands will usually chase too long too

i think in general the rule of thumb for a 10 player game is 5 or more on average *50%* seeing the flop its loose, less than 4 on average is tight (this is of course very subjective and is strictly based on hand strength not action based *ala the players play a playable hand regardless of who is in the pot or how much it costs*)
