| how does that work? if you come in the money, is there a standard % of your winnings that you're supposed to tip to the dealers? if you just give it to the dealer at the final table, does it automatically get split amongst all the dealers who worked the tourney? | ||

| Often the tournament manager will collect the tips when distributing the winnings and then gives the tips to the dealers who dealt in the tourney. Some tournaments offer a dealer add-on, where you get more chips and the $$ goes to the dealers Players usually tip 3-10% in the ones I've played (~$2000 to winner). In larger tournaments with huge prizes it might be less on a % basis. In tournaments with a dealer add-on I'm not sure if the winners make an additional tip. | ||

| I've had tournament directors suggest 10%, and that's just ridiculous. With that kind of tip, you're going to have to money way too often to make the tournaments profitable. | ||

| Shoot them a tournament chip when you drag a pot, just like in a ring game. It's funny every time, one of my favorite poker jokes. Seriously though, jaustin answered correctly, the tournament director will collect at the end, around 3% is standard. Eli on 15. | I finished 5th in a tourney and won around 3700, I tipped like 250 and have no idea if that was cheap or generous. | ||
