| You are the BB with 8-3. There are 4 limpers and you get a free play. The flop comes 822 rainbow. What do you do? Choose one please. A) Bet. Everybody limped showing no real strength. Protect your hand. B) Check. You will get overcard callers anyway. If more than one person calls, one of them will probably hit one of their overcards and you are dead meat. One of the limpers may have limped with 89s, 87s or 99 anyway. Dont waste any bets on this junk hand. | ||

| If a bet has no chance of winning the hand I'll check/fold. You could be already beat as you mentioned, plus you're in bad position so if an overcard falls, you will most likely have to check/fold the turn. If I'm up against solid/tight players, I'll bet if I think I can take down the pot. If I get called and an overcard comes, I'll most likely check/fold (especially if it's and A or K). If one doesn't I'll bet again and fold to any raise, unless I suspect the player to be capable of a raise-bluff. | ||

| I bet until I am raised and then decide if I respect this players raises. If I do then I fold and if I don't then I call it down. | ||

| I usually check here, with the intention of folding. If players behind me check and I get a free look at the turn, then I have given a free card when I was likely in the lead. So be it, I didn't like the hand much anyhow. If it is checked around to a late position player who bets: if I think he might be on a steal, and if there are no callers in between the late position bettor and me then I will often raise in an attempt to knock out everyone else. To be honest though I don't much care for this play. I am always content to check and fold to an early position bet or to a bet and any callers. Snorbolus on 13. | I would choose neither option. Depending on the texture of the action I would prefer to check-raise the flop. With the BB you can easily represent a 2. If the turn is a blank your bet will most likely win the pot. | ||
