| e.g. a casino says it spreads a $5/$10 holdem game with a full kill. what does that mean? thx | ||

| A full kill just means that the blinds are doubled for the next hand (SB X 2, BB X 2) - in a 4/8 game the blinds in a "kill game" would be 8/16. A "half-kill" game the blinds increase by 50% so the same 4/8 game with a half-kill woud equate blinds of 6/12. Kill games are in effect after a player wins two hands in a row. Hope that helps | ||

| Two minor things to add: 1) The pots must generally be a certain size to force a kill game (often 5x the big blind) 2) in Omaha Hi/Lo the kill game is initiated when someone scoops a large enough pot on 13. | at Foxwoods, the 5-10 HE game has a kill after any hand where there was a pot exceeding $100. | ||

| Actually, the blinds usually stay the same, it's the stakes that double. That, and the killer usually must post a blind of the kill amount. So, in a 5/10 game with a full kill, the small blind posts $2, the big blind posts $5 and the killer posts $10. | isnt the kill post like a third blind? namely that the person who posts the kill gets to act last on the first round of betting? *almost sure i have seen this* Rule #1 of Poker Circumstances alter cases Rule #2 NEVER forget rule #1 | ||

| It's not a 3rd blind if one of the blinds has earned the kill button. It does, however, get posted before the hand is dealt, and has the option to check or raise. on 15. | Sort of... it gets posted before the deal like a blind. It would only be the 3rd one if the killer is not one of the blinds. In other words, if you are to be the BB, and earn the kill, you don't post both, only the kill. The killer also acts last before the flop, because everyone is calling his bet, so he has the option to check or raise, just like the BB would without a kill. -Moz "How can Ace be one AND eleven? | I don't agree Moz, and would like clarification if I'm wrong. The killer does not act "10th" unless he was going to be the big blind. In my experience, the posting of the blinds never changes, so UTG is still 3 from the button. Assuming the kill blind is 4 from the button, he would be 2nd to act, and could check or raise, assuming 3rd from the button only called or folded. The rest of the kill blinds are posted in standard fashion, with the 2nd from the button the last to act. Smack me if I'm wrong! on 15.
