Hi guys- I am playing at my first ever live event this Tuesday at Foxwoods. Its a $60 buy in with unlimited rebuys till the end of 1st level. Also there is the option at the end of level 1 to do a single or double add on. What does all of this rebuy and add on stuff mean??? I play in multis at party poker and do quite well but dont understand this terminology. Does this change the way people play in this 1st level? Are people gonna bet with reckless abandon cuz they know if they bust they can always get back to their starting point? also, does it always make sense to add on to your chips when you have the option?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would at least do a double add on. Some people play very loose and just keep rebuying. I like to protect my stack early and just play grade 1 hands and then do the add on. The real tourney starts when rebuy period is over. Good Luck!!!!!

thank you caggy-- I thought that might be the case. I am with you on how to play it. I will play pretty tight and hope to hit some nice hands in level one. If I must rebuy I will and then definitely add the max amount of chips. Any other advice anyone might have would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I play in this tourny regularly, and the play is not reckless but it does tend to be on the aggresive end in the first round. Just about everbody adds on during the add on period, I would suggest that you add on. Also get there a little early because the event has been selling out at 200 players each week, and beleive me you do not want to be # 201.....
