| I'm sure this has been beat to death..but I'm venting. I guess as more and more people come in you're going to have more cheating. I only play on party, and I was wondering how other sites deal with people who have very 'opportune' disconnects. Is it just a hole in party's software? It just cost me money, and it sux. I reported it to the floor and called the guy out for it, I hope they take it seriously. Whenever it happens I note it, and if I ever catch the same person twice I'm gonna haunt he ass wherever he goes. I think we all need to be vigilant to protect what we have, and hopefully party will do their best with our help. | ||

| Just to play devil's advocate, I am on dial-up, and I get cut off from Party more than any other server. I was accused last week of cheating with it - I never even saw the small pair that was in my BB, but this guy was adamant I was abusing the priviledge. I have most more than I ever gained, and yes, they always seem to happen when I'm in a serious hand. I don't doubt that people use it intentionally, but in my own experience, it is a real pain in the ass. I would get DSL tomorrow if it were available, but I'm in the sticks, and it's dial up or satellite which is out of our budget. | ||

| I usually bite my tounge when it happens because I know it can be a fluke, and I wouldn't want to see someone labled as a cheater unjustly. When someone gets disconnected only one time in a whole tournament and it's just at a perfect time and means keeping him in the game...well that's pretty hard to swallow. But in anycase I think the thing to do is to quietly report him to the floor and if it's a fluke, then it won't be a problem. But like I said, if I see it happen twice to the same person, I'm gonna call it out to anyone who will listen. | ||

| It is pretty hard to swallow when they bet big pre-flop. The flop comes out with an A. They do another bet, you do a big raise to him and he disconnects with KK or QQ... just a little too convient | ||

| Party has recently changed the Customer Service software so that the CS reps can no longer issue a manual all-in reset if the limit has been reached like they could before. If you use up your resets, you are hosed for whatever time period remains. I know this for a fact because it just happened to me a few days ago and I had a detailed phone conversation with them. I am *not* a number one fan of a particular ISP in Washington right now. When I have perfect connectivity to MSN and YaHoo but get dumped packets going into Party, it's *not* my SBC connection, especially when I am on a commercial connection. Jim | ||

| I play 20/40 at Planet Poker and no one does that. I think there software can detect if you are connected so if you are connected and you fail to act then your hand is folded and you don't recieve all-in protection. Play at Planet Poker - the best most trustworthy site on the net. | ||

| I would refuse to play at a site without disconnect protection. Disconnects happen for reasons beyond your control and you *must* have that protection in place. Those who abuse it pay a high price later. | ||

| Planet Poker has all-in protection - however, it's more advanced. It dectects if the player is conected and if the player is connected there is no all-in protection. | ||

| I was playing a single table tournament at party and it was down to myself and one other player. I had over 5000 in chips to my opponents two thousand and something. basically i was in cruise mode as the size of the blinds would quickly wear him down. I couldn't see how i could lose and then just like that i got disconnected! i tried frantically to reonnect but by the time i did i had folded away almost all 5000 chips. Ouch i got second when i should have gotten first. I don't see how someone could benefit from disconnecting as it has only cost me money. | ||

| I got disconnected today while playing stud hi/low. I had a full house K's over J's after 5 cards. Another guy ended up with a boat Q's over 4's. Another guy had a str8. There was a big sidepot. I won the hand but lost a pile of money. So sometimes it works both ways. What do you mean their software can determine whether or not you are connected? Why cant someone just disconnect from the internet instead of disconnecting from the poker site and accomplish the same thing? I guess they cant if they have DSL? Is that what you mean? | ||

| Another aspect is just thier crappy software. I play 6-7 tables and often time out when if click on a button or check a box, but it does not register. Meanwhile, my focus is elsewere. | ||
