My bad beat story for the day, Robert M, 11. Dec 2003 13:02

SnG 30+3 PL
It's the very beginning so blinds are 10/15
I am dealt Qs9s in LP. Lot's 0f limpers, playing 7 handed. Flop comes J 10 8 rainbow. Woo-hoo I flopped the nuts! EP bets out 15. Mp raises full pot value (I think about 150). I raise to 300. EP folds. MP calls. Turn is Kd (second daimond on the board). MP bets weak, I put him all in. He calls. River is another daimond, MP shows Ad2D for the nut flush. Aaaaaaaaaaargh! &%&#*%^(*%^$!!!
Hey, these maniacs are good for the game but they always seem to hurt me.

On a side note, last night playing NL HE in a ring game 3 handed. (this really isn't a bad beat, just interesting.) Playing 3 handed I am on the button. Preflop I am dealt KK. Pre flop sb bets out 5. BB calls all in (70). I call and so does SB. Everyone is all-in pre-flop and the pot is at about $190! Now I put BB on Aces so you may ask why go all in? Well, he had gone all in before on AKo and besides, I liked that pot too much. (call me an ametuer, whatever, I knew the risks when I put the money in.) So The boeard is dealt all blanks. Sb had QQ, BB had AA and I had KK. Playing 3 handed the 3 highest rank hole cards all in one hand! Then SB says, "there goes Party Poker again." Anyways, I'm not a conspiracy theorist and I still chalk it up to dumb luck.

Update.
The odds of getting any specific pair pre-flop is 220 to 1. So the odds of this scenario playing 3-handed were about 10,648,000 to 1? Unbelievable.

A) Were there only three of you at the table? If there are more than three of you, the hands you see aren't really random. You only saw three at the end but you started with as many hands as people.

B) The odds of AA, KK, QQ in one hand are also the odds for 44, 99, 22; 33, 66, 88; TT, 22, 33 and so on. We've all seen three or more pocket pairs show up in a hand.

It's still pretty unusual to see all that in one hand :)

Yes, we were playing shorthanded with only 3 players at the table.
