Hey kids! It's been since forever ago that I snooted around here. I came on long enough to say that I was back and then didn't show my ugly mug again. Well, I'm back again, and hopefully I'll actually start reading regularly and asking/answering some questions.

So what gives dude? Well, last you heard I was unemployed and trying to decide if I should keep playing or just avoid the risk. Well, I didn't play a day in October - I lived on my severance and I enjoyed the fruits of life. I decided to take a shot at poker in November, though I decided to go with a very limited bankroll. I assigned myself $3k and relegated myself to the humble 5-10 under the condition that I don't play 10-20 unless there is a game I can't refuse ... untill I've pushed my bankroll up to $6K. Lo and behold, I held to that not long at all, but the 10-20 was running soft and after a few bad sessions and a little mallaise, the deck ran square into me. The 20-40 began to call to me.

I'm happy to say that I'm now full-timing the cardroom and playing the games up to 20-40. My bankroll is totally adequate and my hourly rate since the start of November is enormous (my average for the whole year is solidly respectable) ... I've logged 457.5 hours this year, 167.5 since "going pro" whatever that means...by no means enough to know how much I'm making, but certainly enough to call myself a winning player. I'll continue this experiment through Christmas and we'll see how it goes.

Don't get me wrong - I don't plan to be a career player - I know that in 5 years I would grow bored of it and have a resume that looks like I just did a long stretch in the Kingston pen - but as a full time thing to do "between contracts" I think it is damn hell perfect for me.

Sorry for wandering off for so long and I look forward to chatting it up with all of you on this board soon. ... ... ... and look forward to Vegas with y'all in May.

Thanks Lee. It's good to be back.

If all else fails, I've got my education to fall back on :)

Good to hear that you didn't blow Wren's Christmas money.

Looking forward to May. You bringing the Cubans?

Thanks. I'll see if I can't be a voice here once again. Of course it was a lot easier to find the time to waste here when I had a job :)
