| the poker play went from ridiculous (in episode #1) to a complete joke (in the "West Wing" episode). And the show was LESS entertaining than the first one (the hat routine was the only amusing moment) I don't think I'll be able to make myself watch any more of these shows. Some comments on this episode: Phil, don't waste your time attributing ANY intelligent play to this- your comments such as "he's playing great poker right now" are ludicrous, to the point of being a farce. You look stupid trying to gild this pig. Also, I can't decide if the "any two cards can win" message is worth the disturbing new message- "if you're clueless at poker, you have no chance and shouldn't play." Or maybe I'm taking this all too personally... but the poker play is atrocious and the show is REALLY getting on my nerves. Thank the goddesses that we have a new WPT show tonight (I'm looking FORWARD to VInce, that's how bad it's gotten!).... even if it is a made-for-television invitation event, somewhat similar to the UB Aruba farce of last year. | ||

| I agree that this celebrity poker is getting worse. I watched the first one and only listened to the 2nd. It just wasn't worth the effort to actually watch. I am wondering what they will do next? I can see them doing a Playboy Playmate Bikini episode soon. | ||

| I have decided to stop watching. It's not poker. It's not entertaining. There is no tension or drama, only stupid people who make stupid poker moves. I thought -- and said -- that I would love to play against these idiots for real money. Then I realized that any advantage I might have over them -- and it is frighteningly possible that I might not actually have an advantage -- would be swallowed by dumb luck. Imagine: I have A4s and limp in. All call. 6 way pot. Flop is K, 2, 7 rainbow. Checked around. Turn is a 3 completing the rainbow. Checked to me and I push all-in to scare them out. Idiot #1: Well, I have an 45o. I have a straight draw, I'll call. Idiot #2: Garsh, I have a pair of 2s with a K kicker. See, there it is out on the board. I have a great hand, I'll call. Idiot #3: Gee, I have JTo, but there's a lot of money out there, I'll call and see if I get lucky. I wonder if my agent got me the part in Dirk Diggler Returns to the Clinic part IV? Idiot #4: Well, I have a a pocket pair of Ks. But someone might have the other K, I should fold. Idiot #5: Sweet Jesus!! Global warming is ruining the environment. We should boycott these chip makers. I hear it takes 1,000s of pounds of pressure to make them. That must be bad for someone. And I need to have the Hummer serviced again. Gotta change the oil, ya know? What? The action's on me? Who told you that? The Enquirier? I'm suing? What? Huh? Oh, call, I guess.......what does that mean? | ||

| anyone who even trys to articulate what was goin yesterday should be shot. They counldnt even count the chips the right way. I forgot his name but, he was sitting to the left of the "mad hatter"...lol hahahha..........it was great how every time a monster flop came down he started yelllinggg,,yessssssssssss wooooooooooo look at that!! Forget about Mr Caroe's book of tells just watch that guys every move,,,lol | ||

| Actually, I thought the play was MUCH better than the last episode with the exception of the first two who busted out that had no clue. They mentioned that it was Martin Sheen's first time to play Texas Hold'em EVER, and boy did it show. The crazy hat guy and the red haired guy were both aggressively going after pots all the time, not a bad thing playing three handed No limit holdem. The basic problem with these celebs is that they all call too much, which I guess is the universal problem with anyone new to poker. For some reasons all newbies have "bluff paranoia" and will call virtually ANY big bet, no matter how ridiculous their hand is. Anyway, I actually like the show and think it will be good for poker, the charity aspect is nice, but you'd think some of the celebs would at least get a real player to give them a crash course the day before. In a ten minute conversation, I'm pretty sure I could make David Schwimmer or Martin Sheen much better. Overall, people like to do what celebs do, and maybe it will turn some of them onto more serious shows like the WPT (which I certainly agree is much better). If it gets anyone who wouldn't go into a cardroom into a cardroom, then I think it's a success. | ||
