| Six players left in a No Limit Hold 'Em tournament. I have 65,000 chips. The other stacks are 30k, 25k, 20k, 15k, 10k (for 165k total). Current blinds are 2k-4k with a 400 chip ante. The prize pool has $8000 in it, which if no deal is cut will be divided up as 3400 for 1st, 1700, 1100, 800, 600, 400. I proposed to give everyone else 3rd and give me the rest. So 5 players got $1100 and I locked up $2500, which I think was a pretty good deal for me. How did I do? How do you guys calculate the value of your stack when it comes time for deal making, in general? Randy | ||

| I think you did well, as you got halfway between 1st and 2nd and weren't in that dominating of a position to gaurantee that you would finish first (or even second). There is no easy way to calculate what you should get. It depends largely on how good the other players are. If you have them outclassed as well as out-chipped, then you can push for a better deal knowing that it won't hurt you too much if you have to play it out. | ||

| Randy, you should have not entered the tourney in the first place, and instead been working on fixing the still infinitely buggy MODO. Explains why it has been at status quo for the better part of a year though; Send Leaping Lizard to the rail and take the rake to NL tourneys:-) On a more serious note, congrats on your 1,5st place! regards retired pt regular | ||
