| Does this fall under "Strategy" or "Psychology"? I'm gonna guess Psychology cause your head may be a little screwed up at the moment. I know it sucks, but if you can't smile and suck it up, and know you're getting your money in when you have the best of it, then you're not going to be a winning poker player... Good times, ReMMy | ||

| According to one of the extant poker books, Aces only hold up 32% of the time, so you are only one pot behind the Law of Averages. | ||

| As only hold up 32% of the time??? against what- a full table? i dont know what kind of games you plaay in, but normally you can raise and narrow the field to 2-3 people where AA is a huge favorite. By the way, you were 77.9% preflop against just the AJ and A8s, I'm assuming others were in, so you were something less than that. | ||

| Actually, I think that 1/3 statistic does refer to a full table of people chasing you down. At low limits, that's exactly what you get a lot of times. If not a full table of chasers, you'll probably be facing at least three (usually more) other people on the flop which means there's a fair chance of that flop hitting someone and it won't always be you. | bIG GAME, before the flop, assuming that both players will call all the way, you were just under a 4-1 favorite to win the hand. (77.8 percent) now, of course, many times, both players will be out on the flop, so the figure is actually much higher. ADAM THE EXPERT, giggles at people who think that ANY hold em hand, including aces, is anything more than a "oh, i got a hand to play, ok" then when it loses "oh, it didn't win that time, ok" THERE ARE NO SUPERPOWERFUL HANDS, IN A LIMIT HOLD EM GAME. PERIOD END OF DISCUSSION. By "superpowerful" Adam the Expert means that the hand will win more than 50% of the time, even against multiple, multiple "can't get 'em out with a stick" oppossition. You do have these hands, in omaha, stud, lowball, and draw. BUT YOU AIN'T A GOT EM, IN HOLD 'EM ARE YOU STARTING TO SEE WHY ADAM THE EXPERT, AND ANY OTHER SOLID PLAYER (WHO CAN SPEAK HIS MIND, AND IS NOT TIED TO THE CASINO INDUSTRY) PREFERS ANYTHING, TO HOLD EM!!! THE GAME HAS IT'S ADVANTAGES, SURE. But be prepared to lose, on ALMOST EVERY HAND YOU EVER PLAY, EVEN GROUP ONE (in a very small limit game, that is) By the way, are you playing the aces correctly? The correct way to play is: if a raise will get people out, then raise. If no one, or EVERYONE will call, then you should raise, but NOT three bet. Once you builld up the pot to gigantic proportions, anyone with the smallest piece of the flop, will call, and you will probably not win. NOTE: THE ABOVE ADVICE, IS FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T STAND TO LOSE, ON AA. FOR THE REST OF US, REALIZE THAT EVEN IF YOU ONLY HAVE A 15 PERCENT CHANCE TO WIN, YET NINE PEOPLE WILL CALL YOU. YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A LONG TERM PROFIT. UNLESS GOD HAS CURSED YOU, WITH HORRIBLE LUCK. ADAM THE EXPERT | ||
