I started playing poker (2-4holdem) last summer and i am comfortable playing 3-6 now. How long will it take me before i can start to take on higher limits? Is the jump from 2-4 to 3-6 as the same as from 5-10 to 10-20 and so on?

i believe the consenus is, as your bankroll grows you should look for favorable tables at limits around your normal limit, meaning if you see a juicy 3-6 and you have say 2/3 of the needed bankroll built up take a shot *300X6=1800 so about 1200 which is the bankroll you start with at 2/4 in this case*

things your looking for when stepping up
comfortable with $ in pots (changing how you play cause of how much is bad poker, only change when table makeup changes *think of them as just chips not $*)

are you favored to win against the new competition?

as you go up in limits table makeups can change and they can change much faster *some articles have been written about very large games with only one bad player in it and yet all the others are favored to win*

Rule #1 of Poker
Circumstances alter cases
Rule #2 NEVER forget rule #1
