| Party Poker satellite - $11 buy in - 400+ entries, 1-13 get entries to Saturday $300+20 tournament. This is LIMIT I make it to final 20. I have a decent stack, there are a couple standout stacks, but most of us around the 20K area, with a couple small under 10K stacks. The guy on my right has the big stack, and raises and bets with absolute garbage, just to mess with people. His stack dwindles, but not in danger of being out of top 13. Point is this: 2 really small stacks at our table, the other table has all the same size (I already find this a problem, as we have more empty seats too) Dowo to 15 - 2 left to go - we all tighten up, except dufus of course, betting everything in sight. I make the mistake of calling one raise - I fold on flop, but now I have 12K or so. Well, the tiny stack hits EVERY BLIND FOR THREE ROUNDS with the winning cards. He takes out the other smaller stack, now one to go - but this cat without doing a thing has just fallen ass backwards into free money with ridiculous stuff. Of course the other table barely plays, I get blinded out - and I'm the jackass in the 14th spot, just outside the money. Oh sure, I got $15, $4 profit. I felt sick. This was ridiculous. So close, looked like it was a lock. Well, I learned - in a tourney - THERE IS NO LOCK. You can play one seemingly harmless wrong hand, and lose position like THAT. But if you could have seen this carnival, you may have seen it as a bad beat for me too - ok, whining over - it's out, that was cathartic, I'm done with it now. | ||

| You shouldn't have played at all in a spot like that. You don't need chips at all, you have enough. Don't call raises, just sit back and wait for the short stacks to go. If you happen to get to be one of the short stacks, then you have to play, but otherwise, just wait it out. Lee | ||

| I know I was dumb there, Lee. I just had to vent the story, but I was more mad at myself for letting it happen. Just stupid, amatuer, tourist mistake. If I get in that position again, it won't happen that way, I can be sure. | ||
