| my wife and I were watching the tourny on ESPN last night and it was very educational. One thing I noticed about each and every one of the players... even the "rookie"... they have this amazingly cool way of handling their chips. From Johnny Chan to Chris Moneymaker.. each them just had this flare of twirling the chips between their fingers and manipulating them. Where can you learn how to do that sort of thing?? | ||

| I have no idea where you would learn to do tricks, but if you have some chips with you, take three chips and hold them with your thumb and pointer finger, now what you will want to do is try to loosen your grip with these to fingers and use your ring finger to pull (or slide rather) the middle chip out, (so the middle chip should be supported by your pointer and ring finger) now slowly use your middle finger to try and push the chip around in a full 360 degree circle, once you can do that all you do is push the chip back in with your ring finger and repeat. I prolly explained that so bad, but I tried. If you have a question just reply back. Now on to the shuffling of chips, this is the hardest to explain, but the easiest to do. make two even stacks of chips, (start off with stacks of about 4). Ok, now I find it easier to do with my off hand (my left hand (Im right handed)). there are many different ways to do this but I will try and explain my way. obviously put the stacks together so they are touching, now on one sid place your thumb and your pinkie and on the other side place your middle and your pointer, these four will be used to lift the coins into each other. Use your ring finger on the out side middle to help lift and control the chips. So you are lifting the chips from the back and pushing them into each other, once you have them lifted, let some of the pressure go and they should just fall into place shuffled. This takes some time and practice but you will pick it up pretty fast, I learned it in just a couple hours. Any questions just reply back, hope this helps. | On the first trick, you only do a half twist not the 360 that I said, so just do a 180. Highflyin3484k (the 18yr old poker prodigy) | ||

| http://www.wptfan.com/article.php?story=20030603184740446 Here are a few with pretty good descriptions, I have cheap bicycle chips for the house, which work lousy, I suspect heavier plastic or clay chips would make it much easier, as well as keeping me from making a mess when reaching for a few and mucking the whole stack. | ||
