| Compared to the WPT, and the new-and-improved ESPN cinematic style coverage of the WSOP, Bravo'sCelebrity Poker just plain sucks. Production values: the set isn't my taste, but I can't complain. It's the terrible graphics they use for the hole cards. I can barely make them out. We don't all have plasma hi-def's out here. The editing BLOWS. I know Phil Gordon was in the middle of saying something that they chopped up and I had trouble making sense of it. On hands, they don't make it obvious what's happening - on the big split pot between Cheadle and Affleck, I didn't know whether Don raised or called. After the fact I figured it out, but it's like they tried to avoid letting you know what happened. It's obviously more about the celebrities than the poker. They didn't take time to even tell you how many starting chips there were. And as for celebrities, Schwimmer sucks. His out on AAA to the draw was a bad beat,m but the play they showed before was weak. I just started playing, and I would LOVE him in my game. The guy who won was just plain nuts. Deck loved him I guess. I'll tape it and watch it, since I'm just so obsessed right now, but they could have worked on this one a little harder and gotten a much better show out of it. | ||

| The show certainly sucked. Kevin Pollack made an ass of himself, Phil Gordon was way too stiff and had trouble articulating key situations and the production values looked like cable access. The more poker that shows up on TV the more credit I have to give to the WPT, they put on an entertaining broadcast. The highlight of highlights, of course, was getting to see Ben Affleck get verbally bitch-slapped by the nerdy guy and then go on MEGA TILT!!! That was hilarious! The winner hit every important longshot card he needed all night. I hated seeing him win, but if it inspires loose play then I guess we might all profit from it... | ||

| I hope nobody thought this was going to be stunning poker play with useful dialogue. Sure, it's no WPT, but its the only thing that will get me to record anything on Bravo. I found the whole setup semi-amusing and liked seeing the players play to the crowd. This was more of a donkey basketball game rather than a night with the Lakers. Personally, I'll tune into the celebrity games before I watch or tape anything coming from Fox. The Poker Million show was so painful to watch - and listen (with all of the chip-banging on the glass and the inane commentary), I don't know who ended up winning - and I can't bring myself to even fast-forward to the end to find out. | ||

| I'm a big fan of tv poker. After all, I wouldn't have learned to play as soon as I did. However, I couldn't stand watching this. I just skimmed the broadcast. Seeing these players chase and win will inspire those not into the game to do just that. On an interesting note, the WPT Invitational was on last night. Seems the celebrities didn't learn anything from that tourney looking back. They should have brought in Mickey Rooney, he'd waste them all. | ||

| The set was horrible. I thought I switched to the GameShow Network and was watching Dating Game re-runs. Garson winning sucked and while I cannot stand Affleck as an actor he seems like a fairly decent guy and I hated seem him beat by that goofball with some of those hands he played and calls he made. I do believe Garson is probably a pretty good player, but just good enough to be a danger only to himself if he tangled with any pro or even semi-pro players. I definitely would have rather watched A WPT re-run instead. Except , maybe last night's episode where I had to suffer through Layne's smugness/obnoxiousness from way in front. | ||

| As much as it fell short of WPT and their great hosts. I am going to watch it tonight. But the lack of serious money and competition really makes it boring and not very intense. Tommorow is the women's WPT tho! | ||

| Lets just all hope this show will keep the fish swimming into the game. I hope they all learn a thing or two about how to play poker from the celebs! Every time I play these days I fond myself saying "Thank You World Poker Tour"! | ||
