| I want ot try a couple of other sites for NL SnGs, currently I only play these on PartyPoker. PartyPoker's sitting for NL $10 is ridiculous when there are allot of people on (which of course is the best time to be on) I can't get a table because my laptop isn't as fast as others. I even called to complain and of course they gave me a pre-written response about management looking into the matter, so it's clear they get dozens of these complaints a day. I've been watching Paradise Poker and like how many tables they have going when it's hot, but I couldn't judge the calliber of player since I was only watching, and you really have to "feel" SnGs to know what people are thinking. UB seems to be everyone's go to choice, but by everyone I mean serious poker dudes that post in this forum, and I'm not comfortable enough in my play at this point to intentionaly go where competition is likely higher. Empire?... Pokerstars?.... PlanetPoker? I was going to do a buy at PokerRoom since I like their site and they have good promotions, but no NL has turned me off. I have a large cashout from PartyPoker coming so I wouldn't minding spreading $150 here $150 there to test the waters. Do any sites only rake %5 on their SnGs? Obviously %10 is the norm. Sites besides Party that offer lucrative multi-table tournaments? (besides one's where player calliber will be high) Any thoughts please toss 'em out there, I hate to be a slave to PartyPoker's poorly run site just because they have the tables I like. | ||

| The standard rake is 10% everywhere. I personally don't have much experience elsewhere, I did play on paradise early in my online career, but I was a losing player then so I couldn't even judge the caliber of play there. I played UB for a short period, deposited 100, cashed out 100, and went broke. It seemed the players were better there. I'm fairly certain in general, the worst players are at party. Thus its hard to recommend playing elsewhere, since the earn should be lower everywhere else. Pokerstars however would be a good second choice, they have many different types of tournaments (4 player tournaments, 18 person SnG's) and while I havent deposited there yet I plan to eventually. Main reason I havent is their software just looks weird to me. | ||

| I generally play SNG on Pokerstars because of the increase in starting chips which allows for a little more play compared to Party. I also had the same problem as you with getting to a table through my laptop. For ring games if you are playing at other places than Party in my opinion you are losing money because the players there are generally very very bad. Good luck. | ||

| Paradise $30 tournaments were very tight when I last played there a couple months ago. PokerStars has the toughest players on the net in my opinion. | ||

| There are bad players everywhere. I play stars, party, gutshot, paradise and UB. Party tops it with bad players but i.m.o have the worst software. I have been on a bad run recently at party ( 1500 down to 400 ) and then the bad beats are really frustrating. I have to go back to the 0.5-1 and $10 stngs and try to recover , if not the party is over for me. The software and gameplay on pokerstars is the best nothing tops that i.m.o. All is well organized the big tournaments are the best and have good formats. It depends on what kinda player you are and how do you cope with bad players and how does it affect your play. Do you go and play bad yourself. I know i did. Myself i play better with better players but they are hard to find at the lower limits and I am not gonna risk my bankroll ( again ) moving up when i shouldn't I have learned from my earlier mistakes. ( took me a while though ...lol.) So i would recommend stars and paradise you don't have to fight for a table ( its like summersale fighting to spent your money...crazy ). I think you are right choosing another site even if you are a winner if they don't take their players seriously. take care. Tommyhawk. | ||

| I primarily play Stars and Paradise, but have also played Party. IMO, Stars offers the best play. While there are bad players at Stars, the SNGs tend to be more rational. As a result, I have been able to increase my stack by tenfold in SNGs. What is really weird is I cannot win at Party SNGs and have stopped trying. The play is so irrational. I suppose the best strategy would be to simply wait for monsters, because someone will call and draw out on you virtually every good hand. It is rare for 2 pair to win a hand in a Party SNG. So while it would seem better to play with more bad players, I have found the opposite to be true. Probably because I am not yet good enough to change my play enough to adapt to the bad players. I find Paradise to be a step-up in quality from Party, but far below Stars. Again the players are less rational and the play much looser. | ||
