| Earlier this year Florida changed the laws a bit so that Holdem games can go up to a 2$ per bet limit at the dog tracks. Daytona lays an interesting game, where what they call 1-2$ limit is really 1-2$ blinds, with all bets 2$ on all rounds. It is also a game with a LOT of calling stations. People chase to the river with nothing frequently, or bottom pair. There is very little raising, especialy preflop. On average there are 6 people in each flop, with 3-5 seeing the river, out of 9 handed tables. What I am wondering is how should this change things up? My initial impressions were that both implied and true pot odds are almost always supported after the flop for any draw. With the lack of preflop raising, and the type of play, it seems to be always right to see the flop with any pair and any suited connector, as well as Ax's. Get the nuts and bet it, otherwise if you have a solid hand, even second pair, call to the river (as it won many many times), especialy when you are getting 20 or 40 to 1 odds by the river to call. A lot of plays go out the window. First person to act on the flop almost always bets, and everyone else folds or calls, unless someone hit pretty hard then they raise. They all seemed pretty friendly with each other, on first name basis, and it was like it was just accepted not to raise often. Does that seem right? Any other suggestions? Also, what about preflop raising strategies? It almost seems like you would only raise with QQ, KK and AA, maybe AKs. Drawing hands go way up in value I know. Gotta raise when you make your hand, but you also don't want to do it overly so, as people will just start folding (of course then perhaps you could bluff more to balance that out). Thanks for any advice :) Jason | ||

| It sounds to me like you've found your own personal ATM machine. With 20:1+ odds on most hands I'd start playing just about any decent suited connectors (I think I'd still dump 23s and 34s), all pairs, some big connectors, AX and KX. If you flop an open-ended straight draw, a straight, a flush draw, a flush, two-pair or trips, start slamming money into the pot. Otherwise, get out at the first sign of agression. SpaceAce | ||
