Beat only possible at Party Poker, JJSCOTT2, 1. Dec 2003 04:03

Beat that shouldn't ever, ever happen. Playing in Party Poker SnG, chip stack running semi-low half way through. Pick up JJ, I hate JJ never win with it, make a minimal bet, starts to fold around the table, I'm thinking its gonna be another one of those days when I catch any sort of cards that could be construed as a good hand everyone is gonna fold. Finally one guy calls. Flop comes J J A. I'm already thanking the poker God's and trying to figure out how im gonna play this. I decide to go for a classic check raise, the one guy left in the hand with me makes a substantial bet enough to make me think he's willing to get all his chips in on this hand. I raise all in. Turn comes A, river 3. Guys turns up A A to make AAAA which beats my JJJJ. Unbelievable.

That's why I hate playing Jackpot games because I know beats like that never really happen and no one ever really wins one of those things. They're just a big rip off.

What am I missing? Why should this have never happened?

A) He had AA. Of course he's in the pot.
B) He flopped Aces full.
C) If the board can pair up to make you quads, why shouldn't it do the same for someone else?

The way I see it, you started with the worst hand and you lost. Sounds like everything worked out the way it's supposed to.

Don't get me wrong, losing after flopping quads really sucks but he wasn't going anywhere and your hand was a massive underdog right from the start. Besides, the next umpteen times you manage to get quads, you're going to win so you should come out way ahead in the long run.

I was thinking the same thing -- why is this a "Party Poker" never shoulda happened thing?

You mean at other sites people lay down poket Aces before the flop or aces full after?

RARE, BUT DOES HAPPEN. MAY I SUGGEST THAT YOU

PLAY IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA, WHERE THEY HAVE

"SUPER" JACKPOTS OF $100,000 FOR WHAT JUST HAPPENED

TO YOU!!!

OR , IF YOU ARE PLAYING ONLINE, TRY PLANET POKER,

WHERE THERE IS A BAD BEAT JACKPOT.

I FEEL FOR YOU, THAT WAS AN INSANE BEAT, AND IT

SHOWS THE ADVANTAGES, OF PLAYING IN A

GAME, WITH A BIG JACKPOT.

It is funny that does happen alot a Party Poker,More action cards I dont think it is rigged but the action always seems to be there. I notice even when I muck pre-flop I,ll almost always hit part of the flop.Like when you see three people show down a hand and they all have the same pocket cards
