I have an oppurtunity to invest in a small online poker room through a share offering!...They usually have about 3-5 small$$ games along with play....Any comments ...I'm beginning to think that the major sites are so busy that smaller sites may never really get going!

this is a high risk venture . you must have a way to get some big money out. since these things are off shore and not under US law you have little recourse if some one decides to stick it in you. If it take3, 5 or 10 years to double through I think it behooves you to find a better investment opportunity . A sound one where as a investor you have at least some recourse. Off shore gambling sites offer no such recourse and most loffer little in the way of sound risk vs return ratios.

he is the "host". basically they pay him to put his face and name all over the site so people trust the place. apparently the site's money is in canada, and the physical location of the servers are in india.

I have recently had reason to inquire into some of this, and I am under the impression that Party is owned by a group in India, but the servers, along with sever other gaming sites, are physically on the Indian reservation in Canada that provides them with the gaming license. It appears than *anyone* can get one of these for the right price. The only catch is that the company headquarters must be in a country that permits this.

"ALL" gambling sites is registered with the "Kahnawake Gaming Commission" http://www.kahnawake.com/gamingcommission/

This includes among many others: Paradise Poker, Pokerstars, Party Poker, Empire Poker,Ultimate Bet. And heaps of other casino game sites and sportsbooks.

They are issued an "Interactive Gaming
License or Client Provider Authorization by the Commission." For what it's worth.

Also, they are registered businesses in such places as Antigua, San José- Costa Rica, St Kitts and Vanuatu.

And we trust them with our bankroll.

take my advice for what it's worth. I had a client once invest in an online casino/sportsbook (before he was my client :) ) and did not get any of his money back. The company ended up stealing all the money and since they were stationed off-shore (Like all online poker rooms), there was 0 legal recourse he had. I would say, at a minimum, let your financial advisor make that decision since anyone qualified to tell you would not be able to online.

can you afford the possible loss of the entire investment finacially and emotionally? if the answers are yes go for it, if not then dont.

whoever thought being able to get fast inexpensive burgers was going to be the hit it is today? *McDonalds*

i would do massive research and cover your arse 6 ways to sunday before investing anything of significance but if the amount they want you to invest is peanuts to you i think the rewards could be amazing *hard to find a more lucritive business, no storage costs, no manufacturing costs, once hardware/software paid its almost all profit*
