Me and my buddies have an ongoing argument about what really is a suited connector.... they feel only the 9-8, 8-7, 6-5 and so on are connectors. I however feel that 9-7 5-7 3-5, j-9 etc etc, I feel that a connector is meant to connect cards to make a str8. I seem to be alone usually on this topic, so lets see what you guys feel.

Most if not all authors would consider you to be wrong. But why tell your friends that.

True, I geuss the term can be interpreted in different ways, and I just interpret it a little different than most.

I believe Lee Jones used the terms "one-gap", "two-gap" and "three-gap" connectors.

Then again I could be wrong. I didn't look it up. I did however find it in Gary Carson's book: the complete book of Hold 'Em Poker. pg. 132.

A suited connector would be what your friends say it is. Because the two cards are connecting and suited. A suited one gapper would be a J9s, etc. But usually whenever anyone refers to a suited connector it doesnt have a gap.
