| i play online exclusively. i have never played in a casino or any tournament, and i know its a hell of a lot different from playing in front of a screen. any advice,opinions,ethics, etc wold be greatly apperciated. i plan to play at foxwoods weekly NL tourneys in a few weeks and want to know what to expect thanks fellas | ||

| I play in the Foxwoods tournies often. There is a big difference playing online vs live. Online you just click a button. Live, you make a bet and people can read your expressions. Not that it matters in the Foxwoods tournament. Since the buy in's are low 50+15 for the Sat Limit, there is a lot of dead money playing. Online, you need to play the cards, in live games you need to play the people and the cards. Success online does not necessarily equal success in live play. Also, if you play online, the period between playable hands is shorter. If you are inpatient in live games, you may see yourself playing hands that you would never play online, just because you want some action. I would look at you first live tournament as a learning experience. Chris Moneymaker was an exception to the rule and should be looked at as a abnormality. | ||

| I recently played my first live tourney. One of the biggest differences was the noise factor. There were conversations going on *constantly* around and thru me. This had a dramatic effect on my ability to focus on the game. Jim | ||
