Situational Trivia Question #5, maniacmath13, 28. Nov 2003 14:05 | ||

| This one is a little different than the first 4. Heres the Situation: you have in your hand a pocket pair of 7's, 7 of hearts and 7 of spades. your opponent has 10 , 9 of spades. The flop comes As Js Qh, and in this situation, the 10 , 9 of spades acually has a much better chance of winning the hand. Question: What 4th street card(s) would give both hands an equal chance of winning this hand? | ||

| Another 7? You have a set but he is drawing to a inside straight and flush. After writing this that doesn't make very much sense at all. | ||

| makes sense to me, almost ... you've then got a good draw on the boat (killing a couple of his flush cards), and his outs on the 9 and T are gone, all he's got then is open ended straight or flush to win--actually, the 7 set should have a significantly better chance there. I'd be more inclined to guess that a total blank puts it close to even--like a deuce of the wrong suit or something. Then he's just got 1 card left to make straight (8 outs), flush (only 6 outs since 2 would also make the straight and you hold the 7s) or one of the pairs (6 outs)--that gives him 20 outs (or 21 if the 7s is counted as "unknown") with 44 cards left (really 46 from his perspective if he doesn't know what you have). So with a blank he's already at a slight disadvantage going into the river, and with a 7 the disadvantage will have to be greater still. | ||

| good guess aisthesis, but with a dead card, the pocket 7's would acually jump back ahead, in the hand, and you gotta find the card(s) that make it so its an equal chance for both hands to win. | ||

| nope, the 3 7's would be ahead if another 7 came out, but the 10/9 wouldnt be far behind, good try. | ||

| yep, good job. Either Qd or Qc would give 19 winning cards for both players, and the remaining 6 cards would be the 3 aces and 3 jacks, which would result in a tie. | ||
