A friend is hosting a 16 player NLHE tournament this weekend. It's a $25 buy in, with the top 3 places paying. There will be only one other person there besides myself with any form of live table experience. I am expecting a lot of wacky things to happen, but I still like my chances of winning.

Does anyone have any advice for sitting down at a NL table with a bunch of newbies?

Easy enough, it's NL so play super tight, just survive until there are few players left, then be super aggressive.
With all these new guys they will have no trouble eliminating themselves. All you need to do is survive.

Have Fun!

Even super tight is not gauranteed to work. My last home game, at a full table, a skilled player has AA and played them aggressively pre-flop. Kept the pressure on after the flop and finally went all in. The newbie has 4-5 suited pre-flop, flopped a flush draw and caught the flush on the river. The newbie mistakes were 1) Calling large bet pre-flop with 4-5 suited. 2) Calling large bet on flop with a draw. 3) Calling an all in on turn with same draw. However, since he was so pot committed on the turn, he needed to call any bet. I am sure he didn't know that though. So as it turns out, the second best player at the table was knocked out by a newbie. The newbie excuse for playing them "I saw Chris Moneymaker win the World Series with 4-5".
