| Typical 4-8 holdem game B&M. I am in late position with AK offsuite and raise two middle position limpers. Both blinds call. The flop comes AKT rainbow. The BB bets 1MP player calls I raise BB and Mp call. The turn looks like this AKTJ rainbow. Both players checked. What do you do? Do you check along fearing a possible check-raise from someone holding a Queen. Or do you bet? The BB is capable of a checke-raise. The MP is pretty tight passive. | ||

What are you planning to do on the river if nothing changes in the hand? What would you do if you bet and got raised here? That will get you started. | ||

| In this case I checked a blank hit the river they checked again and I bet. I didn't think they would try to check raise twice if they had the straight. I think though, If this came up again I would probably bet the turn being up against only two other players. If I was raised I would probably call even though I would not quite be getting the odds to call a 4 outer. I also had outs to tie. If I wasn't raised, I think I would still bet the river. | ||

| I would have bet the turn and depending on my read of those left in the hand I would have to laydown the top two pair to a checkraise. You are representing either a strong two pair, a set, or even a straight. A check raise into a protected pot suggest that you are beat and are drawing 2 outs to the house or 2 outs to the split pot. If they called the turn and checked the river. I would just check along. You probably have the first guy beat but the tight/passive would worry me a little here. | ||

| This is a prety good example of bet/fold scenario, though bet/call is a possibility, too. Here's what I mean. You can't fear check-raises, and you need information, so you bet at it. Most likely, if you are good, you take the pot right there. If you are check-raised, then the Q is in play and you can fold in good conscience (or possibly call on the chance that you catch a Q to chop or fill up and destroy them). If you are simply called, then they are on some kind of draw or have top or second pair... somthing like that. Anyway, all my rambling amounts to this: I will most likely bet at this pot as I think it's probably the best play. -Moz "Hey! You made me ink!" | ||
