Mid-handed or Half-ring game?, Huck, 26. Nov 2003 10:14 | ||

| I often hear people talk about Ring games and Short-handed games, but it seems that the definitions of these games rather excludes games that fall somewhere in between: those with 5-7 players. Or maybe my definitions are misguided. I tend to think of Ring games as games played with a full table of players, usually 8-11 players. I tend to think of Short-handed games as games played with a very small crowd, usually after most players have left or after most players have been knocked out of NLHE tournament. This translates to about 2-4 players. So what do we consider games with 5-7 players? To me, these games are neither Ring nor Short-handed games. (Maybe Mid-handed games or Half-ring games? ) And as a follow-up question, how should we adjust our playing style for such games? Short-handed play might be considered too loose/aggressive, whereas Ring play might be too tight. Huck | ||
