| Who is this individual that posts on a regular basis? Let's start with what we know about him/her. He/she has gone to great lengths to be controversial, to the point of overkill. A. Capital letters. B. Double spacing. C. Extreme arrogance. D. Aggressive writing style. E. Third Person narrative The betters players seem to respect his/her posts as knowledgeable. (I am a newbie at holdem so I am not sure.), so he knows poker. Who could he be? 1. Who he says he is. A very good poker player who lives in Alaska with a twisted personality. 2. One of the regular posters with a good knowledge of poker and an enjoyment of practical jokes. 3. Mike Caro - Adam uses Mike's name as if he is a close personnel friend. Quotes him often but we never see a reply from Mike. ADAM creates a great deal of interest in this site. 4. Combination Mike Caro and Roy Cooke for above reasons. Anyone have any thoughts on this. He told me I could call him, and gave me a phone # with an Alaska phone #. 2. He admits to having psychological problems for which he is often hospitilized. 3. He claims in his first email that his brother set him up with a place to stay and a huge bankroll, yet in the second email he offers to let me stake him for a party 200k tourney, which goes against his own posted advice of not staking with people you don't know extremely well. 4. He claims to know many well known poker players, yet nobody knows who he is. 5. He constantly praises Mike and Roy to no end, to which they never really reply... 6. | ReMMy, I have not read this thread until just now, and I have to say - I can not believe that you would tell us all the things that someone told you in confidence. I do not know Adam, but I do know that when someone shares a bit of their lifes troubles with you, do you feel that is was your place to just blab them all over this forum just because he's also a poster here? Adam told you those things through private e-mails. It was a very hurtful thing that you did - and it's a shame you didn't realize it before you posted it up here. Cyndy | ||

As far as the other stuff, he's told others his number, and I recall a post by another forum member indicating that Adam has called him at his work # which he accidentally included in an email. | What the F has happened to this forum. I leave for a month and when I get back there is post after post about Adam. As most of you know I used to defend him pretty strongly. I don't think you will find anymore of that from me and there is a reason. This is exactly what he wants attention use his advice if you want but trust me when it comes to him proceed with caution. | sometimes, in doberman pinchers, their brain continues to grow as they age, and when it gets too big for their skull, they go insane, and attack their owners. apparently, this is similar to what's happened to you!! let's set the record straight you, yes you, sent me a fan letter, and i attempted to call you, to talk about it. most of my fans, are THRILLED to be able to talk to me. I didn't expect to have an hour long converstation, but i do expect that someone, should be able to be reached at work, even if only for a 15- second conversation, to say: Nice to hear from you, but I can't really talk at work, why don't you call me at . . . . . . . . . and we'll talk!! | Well like I said one message would have been fine and probably returned but when ADAM THE INSECURE EXPERT leaves 4 messages in two days the last one yelling then BLADE THE NOVICE feeels like he should warn others that perhaps A.T.I.E should be contacted with caution. Furthermore, while yes I did email you make no mistake while Blade may indeed be a fan Jeremy the CPA does not give a rats a** about talking to anyone other than his actual clients who unlike Adam's students exist and pay Jeremy actual money to do work during business hours which why BLADE would never return a phone call about poker druing these times. | hehe, I love all the contradictions, cars and money given to him, being setup with a bankroll etc etc...yet every "fan" mail is met with an attempt to get a small amount of money out of them... | ||

| Thanks for the input from everyone, especially ADAM. I now have a new image of ADAM THE EXPERT. I now see a man standing in the middle of the Alaskan Wilderness, on the edge of a deep precipice, overlooking a beautiful canyon. ADAM is yelling into the canyon and then listening for the numerous echoes to reverberate back to him. Sometimes he waits for the last echo to fade before addressing the canyon. Sometimes he interrupts the echo to chide them for misunderstanding or misquoting his true brilliance. Sometimes the echoes fail to show proper respect and incur the wrath or at least irritation of ADAM THE EXPERT. Although he may chide the echoes, he will be back again to share his knowledge. | If I started an inappropriate thread then I would like to apologize to everyone. It was not my intention to detract from the Poker theme. I enjoy this forum and read most of the threads. I do not play Omaha yet so I usually skip over those themes, I am not looking for a game so I skip that section. I am fascinated by human behavior. For example, in your case Flatout, you do not like this thread or find it inappropriate. Your solution is to have it closed so no one else can respond and thus you do not have to read it. Some would just ignore it as inappropriate. It reminds me of the little old lady who filed a police report complaining about her neighbors. When she went to the north east corner of her back porch, stood on the chair, looking through the trees, and she could see inappropriate behavior through the window of her neighbors. I would suggest that if you do not like a thread or a particular poster, skip them. Staying off the chair in the NE corner of the porch might be an effective way to deal with ADAM THE EXPERT as well as other inappropriate posters. It works for me concerning Omaha and Looking for a Game post. It might work for you. ADAM THE EXPERT has his own posting style. He provokes other posters. I have seen other players online who deliberately attempt to put other players at the table into tilt by usually similar trash talk. I was curious what the other posters on this site thought of this. | Actually, I am laughing my tail off as I find this thread to be rather funny though it does have that rubbernecking at a car wreck quality to it. My point is, even though we are not in 1938 Germany, there is a need to keep a certain civility and respect towards all members so that the integrity of this private forum can be maintained. Yes, this is a private forum and it is a privilege to be able to discuss poker and non-poker topics. We all have the responsibility to maintain the integrity of the UPF This forum is not about preserving first amendment rights, though I would gladly lose my life to defend that right for all of us. There are very few forums that exhibit the respect of each and every member, even those that misspell, use caps or think I am a card carrying member of the SS. This one is and in my honest opinion I prefer to keep it that way. | ||
