| I am constantly approached by poker players looking to have dinner or a drink in order to fix their poker game. ...It is NOT that easy...Playing poker well takes a lot of play knowledge and trained self-discipline......There are no simple answers...If you are looking for an easy way to make money....poker is not that vehicle....It requires MUCH training and study! Life is Good :-) Roy Cooke | ||

| "Trained self-discipline". Very important indeed, but it's not easy to accomplish. Without it of course, the study will not be rewarded to its fullest. So make sure you have BOTH in your game - the competition requires it. 4P- on 24. | Indeed. You have made more than anyone else to make me understand what playing poker is all about, and what playing well really takes. Thanks for that. Your writing is great. Please keep it up. And I'd love it if you'd write a real book (not just a collection of your (excellent) columns, I mean). That'd be great. Now...if I could only turn what I know in theory into practice... But it IS hard! -URF | ||

I believe this is the answer to the seldom-asked question: "How do I make sure I always pay for my own dinner despite being widely regarded as an expert in my field?" Sorry, couldn't resist. | ||
