| Well, back to the old Brunson questions again... :) At this point, I don't play low unsuited connectors (in NL), but I wonder whether they might offer some opportunities (cf. Eman's recent post). Actually, with something like 65s, playing the flush or flush draw aggressively really worries me, as you're always dealing with the possibility of a higher flush. Much more comfortable to me is straight or open straight draw, or of course the longshot 2 pair or trips. How do people here feel about these hands? I'm wondering if habitual calls in LP, even to moderate raises, might be worth trying IF (!!) you have, say, at least 4 players in the hand with you. I figure the chances of flopping an open straight draw (including double belly-buster) at 11.0%, then you get an extra 1.8% with 2 pair. Playing it out on the flop if you get the open straight draw, you will prety much automatically have the odds to draw as long as at least 2 players stay with you. And in LP you may have a chance to buy the pot (with EP or MP raisers unlikely, admittedly). Or is this just pushing things too far? In anything but LP, I'd say they have to go, with possible exceptions sometimes at really loose and passive tables--although even there, you might end up playing your straight draw against a made 2 pair or straight when rags flop. So probably just LP regardless of table. | ||

| Like I said before, I only play the small connectors when I feel like I can win a big pot with them and can get in cheap. That is it, I never play them in early position because I don't know who will be in the pot. | ||

| If you can see the flop for the BB only, I believe it is worth it. You may only get 2 pair, trips, or good strait draws 1 in every 15/20 hands, but I believe those hands will be worth much more than that when you do catch. Especially if you have 67s and A 6 7 is the flop. Hands like that can be very profitable. Now in that case you also have to be careful because there is a decent chance the ace will improve to 2 pair. You might also have kicker trouble though with a flop like 7 7 K. So play them, but cautiously. | ||
