| Just thought I'd share an amusing story from last night at Commerce. I'm playing a satellite, very early on (we're still 10 handed) a player two seats to my right goes all in, I call him with something or other and beat him. He has exactly $5 more than me, so he is left with one chip. So things don't look good for him, he waits until he has the BB and turns his nickel into 4 nickels. Quadrupled up, we're all joking around. Then he turns his 20 into 60. Then turns his 60 into over 200. We're not laughing anymore. By this time, we're down to 4 handed, and the other players are almost pissed at me for not having one more nickel way back at the beginning. We can all just feel that he's going to win the satellite, the proverbial "chip and a chair" happening right before our eyes. Finally he goes all in again, and I have something to call with, so I end up doubling through him for a second time and finally sending him home. There's something very satisfying about finishing what I started. Eli | ||
