So I'm playing satellites tonight at Commerce, I'd like to know what others would do here.

We're down to three-handed, but the blinds are still low (25/50). I've got about 1/3 of the chips in the BB, SB has about 1300 and the button has about 700. Button folds, SB bets 150. He was a decently aggressive player. I have As8s, I smell a rat and go over the top of him all in.

So, what's the call here? Is it a surefire all in on my part, a flat call, or a smaller raise?

Eli

You said you have 1/3 of the chips, which is about 1000 by my figure. In that case, you can raise him a decent amount without moving in. Raising to 500 here is fine, and if the moves in, then you still have chips to play with. Moving all in yourself is excessive here. A near pot sized raise will do the same, and leave yourself some chips if he does happen to have a very strong hand and moves in on you.
