| Monday, October 20, 2003 The HE tourney was sold out before 6:05pm. Wow, 50 players. I wish the Belle would trade in some of their Stud tables for hold'em tables. That would make things a bit more comfy! My table was full of tournament newbies. How did I get so lucky? I wish I could have gotten some momentum going during the tourney, but it just wasn't meant to be. I stole a few pots during the no-limit portion, but then our table was broken and I was sent to a "veteran" table, which included my husband Glenn, and tourney pro Chris. I never got a starting hand, and finally hand to make a stand with T9o in the SB. No help, adios amiga! Glenn was out not long after me and we signed up for 4/8. There WAS no 4/8! What the heck is going on here? They were told to keep at least one 4/8 game going. I went up to the podium, only to see, to my shock, that there were about 20 names on the list for 4/8, yet not one table was spreading it. All of the players were being forced to once again play 2-5 whether we liked it or not! I decided to hold my ground and wait. I went to Glenn's table to hear grumbling about a 4/8 game. Seems like most of the players were on "the list" for that game, and had been for hours. I kind of took a poll at the other table, where there were a couple players wanting to play 4/8 also. We forced the floorman to poll the room and get the 4/8 going. He mumbled and grumbled, but finally complied. I don't know what politics are taking over the Belle, but there is something going on that I am not aware of. I hope to see the poker room manager (James) soon and find out the scoop. Felicia :) | ||
