| Hi all I found i was playing too loose in ring games, so i bought into pokerstars and have been only playing tournaments. Heads up, small sit & gos and some bigger entry tournys. Anyway, there's 5 people left in a $40 sit & go satellite to the $650 WTP cruise sattelite. One winner for every 18 entrants of the $650 satellite get a cruise and entry into the WPT event on the cruise. I'm in 4th of 5 for stack size at T1400. Blinds are 100 and 200. The big stacks are T10,000, 9,000 and 5000, with the shortest stack at 650. My stack has been staying pretty constant by making the odd all-in move with group 2 and 3 hands, picking up enough money to pay for the blinds. I'm in a bad position as the big stacks are on my right and keep hammering at my blinds, while the shortest stack is on my immediate left, and is willing to go all in against me as it seems like i'm trying to steal his blinds. I get AJo in the BB. 2 fold to the button (big stack), who makes it 700 to go. The SB (T4000) calls the raise and its up to me. What do I do? Only the winner benefits (although 2nd place gets his entry fee back). In order to have a shot at winning this, i need to double up 2 times from where i'm at now. I can survivce a few more rounds but the blind are moving up again in approx 6 or 7 min. So even if i do survive, the blinds will eat me up if i don't double up soon. I figure to have the raiser dominated, but i'm not sure about the SB caller. If he had a better hand than mine, he would definately re-reaise (unless it was AA). So I figure to be a slight favorite. Should I go all-in and risk everything now? or try to wait for a better situaiton? I pushed all in, got called in two spots, and lost to the pre-flop raiser's QTs. He made trips on the turn. I know i was probably a favorite, and if the SB didn't call, i would have moved in immediately. But his calling made me wonder if i was still in good situation. I didn't want to get my money in a only a very slight favorite, as the whole tournament is riding on the hand and i expected to be called. Mark | ||

| I'd go all in since not only you might have the best hand, and you're short-stacked, but you have the chance at picking up more than the blinds and could triple up. You're right, you ain't gonna go anywhere unless you make big moves. Eli on 15. | The small blind has little incentive to call here, unless he has a strong hand. If you muck, you still have 7 blinds to play with. In a satellite type tournament, I would have mucked and saved my money for a better spot. Either you're slightly ahead (which is not that great 3 way) or your'e behind a good bit. Lee | ||
