Draw poker single table tournament scenario. 3 handed.

short stack, Player A stood pat with a straight.
The chip leader, Player B, drew one, then bet, and told Player A that they had drawn a full house (without ill intentions), before Player A acted. Player A, knew 100% that Player B was telling the truth.

Player A tells me it would have been unethical for him to act on that information, so he called, giving up any chance for money. I say, any information that is given that isn't solicited, isn't unethical to act upon.

I would really like to know what you guys think on this situation. Thanks in advance.

How did Player A KNOW player B was telling the truth unless they had some kind of special relationship of Trust? Essentially, they were Friends with player B soft playing A, giving A the option of whether to go along with it or not. Maybe B thought C would just think it was a Chattering Move and not be able to complain. But, imo B was UNBELIEVABLY UNETHICAL and Kudos to A for declining to participate in the SCAM.

B's Hand was DEAD when he declared it. As the scam was intended to benefit B's friend - player A - the entire pot including B's last bet should have just been removed from the Tournament.

That's my opinion.

Thanks for your opinion. In the Draw poker community at planet poker, there are many of us who have made good friends at the table, through Chat, but never is there intentional misconduct. The two player, A and B, Have played together many times, and Player B, upon realizing what he had done, apologized profusely, and they learned a valuable lesson that day, albeit one they should have doubtlessy known anyway, but we all make mistakes. Hope this clarifies things for the question at hand. Thanks again.

PokerDude, I agree with you....I don't think it is unethical to act on the information. How does player A know that player B is telling the truth....If there is a relationship between the two then it would be unethical to player C. But that said , he has access to the information also.

The two players are friends, but many of us are at the draw tables at Planet Poker, but never so far as to cheat. The two players here, especially Player A, Believe in a fair game.
